Lavender is great for calming and relaxing after a long day. Cinnamon is often used during the winter holiday season as it smells like Christmas trees. Lemon essential oil is great for cleaning as it can remove stains from surfaces such as countertops, sinks and toilets. Orange is known for its energizing properties which makes it perfect if you're feeling sluggish or rundown from your daily activities around the house. Do you use essential oils? If so, which ones are your favorites?
]]>Diffusers are an essential part of any essential oil enthusiast. They’re a great way to get your favorite aromas into the air and help you reap the benefits of your essential oils quickly. But when was the last time you cleaned yours? If it's been a while, you may be wondering how to clean your diffuser. We’ll tell you what materials you need and show you how to clean your diffuser in no time!
Cleanliness is important for diffusers. The oil diffuser is an essential tool for your aromatherapy routine and should be cleaned regularly to avoid potential buildup, which can cause the unit to malfunction.
The most common reason for cleaning your diffuser is odor build-up from your essential oils. Over time, these oils can become thick and harden on the internal surfaces of your diffuser's fan blades or water tank, causing it not to function properly. These deposits also have an unpleasant smell that will permeate any room they're in!
If you clean your diffuser regularly then it won't get clogged up with debris or old essential oils so easily - meaning that you'll be able to enjoy using it much longer!
Fill the diffuser with a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water, then turn it on for 30 minutes.
Turn off the diffuser and let it sit for another 10 minutes or so before rinsing with plain water.
Use a cleaning brush to remove the essential oil from the body of the diffuser.
Clean the diffuser with warm water and soap, then dry it with a paper towel.
Use your cleaning brush to remove any remaining water from inside of your diffuser (this will help prevent mold growth). Let your diffuser air-dry completely before putting it back together and reinserting essential oils into it again!
If you want to go even further, you can use a cotton swab or Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol, vinegar, lemon juice or essential oil. You can also choose to purchase specialized diffuser cleaning products from your local hardware store.
Having a clean diffuser is important so you can keep putting your favorite essential oil in it without harmful buildup.
Why: Essential oils can build up on the diffuser, causing it to not work as well and eventually stop working altogether.
How: Clean your diffuser by using a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol, or use an e-cloth that you dampen with water. You can also run the unit under warm water for about ten seconds if that doesn't work for you!
What if I have trouble cleaning my diffuser? If none of these methods seem to be working for you, give us at Young Living a call and we'll help guide you through it!
We hope you have a better understanding of how to clean your diffuser now! It’s important to be diligent about doing this regularly because it will help keep the air quality in your home great. If you follow these steps thoroughly, then there should be no reason why you ever need to worry about any other problem with your diffuser.
**Check the manufacturer's manual first before using any of these cleaning options on your diffuser; some may damage the items.

Meditation is something every person can do, and different techniques work for different people. However, those wanting to learn the basics of how to meditate can follow these five simple steps.
The Health Benefits of Meditation
There are many benefits to practicing meditation regularly that can help improve your health and wellbeing. People who practice meditation report having reduced stress levels and increased concentration along with improved sleeping patterns. They also have more self-awareness which in turn helps them become more conscious of their daily habits and contributes to their overall wellbeing. Some studies even suggest that meditation could be linked to reducing age-related memory loss and enhancing cognitive performance in older adults.
While the act of meditation itself is beneficial, there is a way to enhance your meditation practice by incorporating essential oils. Aromatherapy is a type of holistic healing treatment that uses essential oils to promote health and wellbeing. Humans have used aromatherapy since ancient times by incorporating aromatic plant components into balms and oils. These substances were known to have both psychological and physical benefits that were used for medicinal and religious purposes. Aromatherapy was particularly popular within Ancient Egypt with the Egyptians being generally regarded as the pioneers of the practice. For example, pure natural oils were important within Egyptian ceremonies and used to purify the air or as sacrifices to the gods.

Aromatherapy and meditation are an excellent pair as meditating with the scent of essential oils can
deepen the meditative experience. Research shows that people who practice aromatherapy meditation report feeling more rested after sleep, improved memory, and increased creativity, in addition to less anxiety and greater happiness. Using essential oils while actively meditating reduces one’s stress levels and therefore allows the opportunity to enter a deeper meditative state.
Essential oils can be incorporated easily into meditation by either diffusing them into the air of the meditation space, rubbing them directly into the skin or using a room spray.
